I am Artisan, Henrietta Seraphin and I live in the west coast village of Massacre. I am involved in the craft business, upholstery and small scale farming as my means of employment. I make jewelry from seeds collected from my garden, as well as souvenir dolls which I decorate with the by-products of my farming, such as dried corn leaves, dried squash fibre, also known as loofah sponge, as well as with madras fabric. I craft small bowls and ornaments from the local calabash and make skin scrubs, using the loofah sponge and madras cloth. To complement my upholstery skills, I make soft furnishings such as throw cushions.

My upholstery training started in 1977 until 1984, when I worked with a local firm in Roseau, called Charles Brothers. After 1984, I continued to sharpen my upholstery skills by working on my own with private customers and the hospital.

My craft is sold from my home as well as in the Roseau market and at craft fairs around the island.

Feel free to have a look at my photos and to contact me if you need any further information.
