I am Artisan, Orlando Cuffy, a wood sculptor, carver and local jewelry maker. My sculptures and carvings are crafted by hand using local woods such as mahogany, red cedar, white cedar, blue mahaut,  mang,  samaan and bodimere. My carvings and sculptures range from small pieces to large decorative pieces such as figurines, wall plaques, maps and parrots to functional pieces such as serving dishes.

"I got involved in local jewelry making in 2001 (about 3 years ago) and have been making jewelry since then.  I was inspired when I saw other craft persons using all the natural materials, such as calabash, coconut, local palm and other seeds, bamboo, cow horn, cow bone etc, all which I realized were easily available in the island.  So I decided to go into local jewelry making and realized that there was a market for it both here and abroad."

I started wood carving in 1988 while I was a student at the Massacre Government School. I also trained later on with the late master sculptor, Mr Louis Desire. I currently teach school children at the Old Mill Cultural Centre as well as conduct summer classes for students and adults who wish to learn the craft.

My craft is sold at the Roseau Market, at a few shops on the island, at local craft fairs and at the airport shop.

Thank you for viewing my pieces and I you wish to make a purchase, feel free to contact me at my listed numbers.
