I am Artisan, Madlene Bonnie from the beautiful, quiet village of Cochrane in the Roseau valley. My craft products include crochet bags, head bands, baby booties, foot thongs. I also hand-craft products made from coconut shell, such as bracelets and soap dishes as well as necklaces and earrings made from local seeds and pods.
My passion for craft was fueled in 2004/2005, when I was given a coconut shell hair slide as a gift from a friend. Being so much of a nature-lover, and I loved the gift so much, that I decided to explore, experiment and create other products using coconut shell, such as hair accessories, soap dishes, and jewelry . I so enjoyed the idea of using my hands to create a functional item that I decided to start a small home-based business. It has been over 10 years since the inception of my craft making idea and I continue to learn and enjoy it tremendously.
I sell my craft from my home occasionally as well as in the Roseau market on some Saturdays and at craft fairs taking place around the island.
