Ethel’s Creative & Tings is a very versatile craft business owned by Ethel Thomas. My craft business specializes in making bags, hats, dolls, belts, earrings, cushions and crochet skirts and blouses. All the products are hand-crafted using a variety of fabrics, including Dominica’s creole fabric of madras. I also use madras fabric to “outfit” my dolls, which makes an ideal souvenir for a friend.
My skirts and tops are also crocheted in vibrant colours with matching crochet bags.
I was passionate about crochet at a young age and I started using pins and the thread from old flour bags as a start. After taking part in a training program with a Community Tourism initiative, I decided to create employment for myself using the skills I was passionate about. As a result, my vision became a reality and “Ethel’s Creative & Tings” was born.
